A collection of short stories that jolted Chilean literature from a long siesta and gave literary critics a headache. The appearance of this book was like the arrival of television: after its release, literature in this country was never the same. Perhaps for that reason, after surpassing its twentieth edition, it is still captivating new readers. But looking beyond this dazzling style and controversial opinions, these stories are plain good literature.
